Slow Cooker Applesauce

I get fresh & organic fruits, vegetables, & herbs from Abundant harvest. I love it. I don't have to figure out whats in season. It's all done for me. I just have to figure out what to do with everything. We didn't like the granny smith apples to just eat them, as the skin is to tough. I know they are great for pies. My son love applesauce, so I fount a recipe & thought I'd give it a try.

The recipe called for, cutting the apple in chunks after peeling & coring them.

I quickly figured out, that just took to long for me & remembered I have one of those wonderful gadgets, Apple peeler, corer, slicer. Yes all in on shot. here is a photo with them finished slicing them all,  & with the rest of the ingredients added. I used agave nectar, you couldn't tell the difference when it was all done.

Look at it bubbilling. Mmmmmm!!!! It smells so good!! :) Still allot of chunks. I'll let it go a little longer.

That looks good to me.

Here it is all done. Yummy! My son didn't like the cinnamon in it, next time I'll try leaving that out.

Slow Cooker Applesauce

3 Pounds apples, peeled & cubed or sliced
1/2 cup brown sugar or 1/4 cup agave nectar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
juice of 1/2 lemon

Combine ingrdients in slow cooker and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours. When apples are tender, mash with a spoon or fork.

The best part is that it fills your house all day with the delicious aroma of apple pie!

Let me know how yours turns out & if you've ever made it before.
